Igor Mikhailovich Kortunov was born on July 19, 1963 in the city of Sumerlya, Chuvash Republic.
In 1985 he graduated from the Electrical Engineering Faculty of the Chuvash State University with a degree in Automation and Telemechanics.
He started his career as a design engineer at the Cheboksary Electrical Equipment Plant. After serving in the Soviet Army, he returned to the factory again. In the period from 1995 to 1998, I.M. Kortunov was the General Director of JSC "Chuvashkabel Plant". In 1998, he joined the civil service, becoming the first deputy head of the Main Department of Economic and Industrial Development, head of the Department of Economics of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Since 1999, its activities have been inextricably linked with the Chuvashkabel plant.
Excellent organizational and managerial skills of I.M. Kortunov helped the company to survive difficult times of decline and economic crises and to reach the forefront among cable manufacturers. The plant is constantly developing: new technologies and equipment, modern management methods are being introduced, new products are being mastered, production sites are being opened.
