Abstract. The key role of testing, both in the development of new types of products and in quality control of industrially manufactured products, is demonstrated. The interrelation in test organization between the development of technical documentation, the choice of testing facilities and the skills of personnel required to obtain a reliable result is shown. The VNIIKP testing center, its technical capabilities and system approach in conducting tests are presented. A number of specialized tests are considered, including methods of microscopic analysis, conе calorimetry method, evaluation of reliability of cable products.

Abstract. The article provides an assessment of the current state and prospects for development of symmetrical cables (LAN-cables). It is noted that currently a domestic system A132 has been developed for measuring electrical parameters of LAN-cables and coaxial cables.

CALCULATION AND MEASUREMENT OF TWO-WIRE CABLE CAPACITY

Abstract. The Shannon capacity of cable channels of various categories is determined and grounds for a more than a three-fold gain of categories 7 and 7a equipment over popular solutions of category 6a are given. Reasons for the low spread of equipment of categories 7 and 7a are considered and the potential for its demand growth in the near future is noted in view of the beginning of mass introduction of LED lighting, active consolidation points and Wi-Fi access points of the IEEE 802.11ax standard.
